• I was previously able to set the MAIL “From” fields as the hidden fields:

    From:
    [user_name] <[user_email]>

…So logged-in users could send a support message without having to enter their name/email, and when I clicked “reply” the response went back to them.

Something changed in either an update with Contact Form 7 or Contact Form 7 Modules that caused that to stop working.

To clarify: I can still capture the hidden fields [user_name] [user_email] in the body of a Contact 7 message, but I can no longer assign those hidden fields to be in the Reply/From field of the email.

What happens now is the From Username and Email are now overridden by my default admin email and site name instead of the sender’s hidden fields.

Getting this functionality back is important to me, I’d pay for an update that made this work again. Can anyone help, please?

    In the Form I have:
    [hidden user_name] [hidden user_email]

    In Mail I have:
    From: [user_name] <[user_email]>

…Those “From” fields no longer populate correctly.

You need to set the values for the hidden fields.

    In the form:

    [hidden hidden-841 "user_email"]
    [hidden hidden-842 "user_name"]

In the Mail tab “From” field:

    [hidden-841] <[hidden-842]>
