Username on Fediverse

Hello, thanks for this plugin. I have a basic question. It seems that setting up usernames for the Fediverse is dependent on usernames in WordPress. Is it possible to create usernames independent of WordPress usernames, for security purposes. For example, if the WP admin username of a site is made visible on the Fediverse, it’s probably a safety risk.
