I’m not a big fan of having people’s usernames the same as their email address.

Is there a way to either have the option so people have to be logged in to post an ad (preregister) or choose a username when they post an ad or post an ad anonymously (have a pass code to edit ad, no user account).

I use a Facebook login plugin that creates users based on their FB profile when they logon with their Facebook, so having your plugin creating user accounts is a bit redundant in my configuration.

Don’t get me wrong, it is a great way to expedite the ad posting process and a clever way to eliminate duplicate usernames, just some people’s sites do things differently.

I used another plugin to present the post ad and manage ad pages/content only when the user is logged in.

So this post is more of a suggestion then a support issue. Having site admin the option of choosing if a user can create an account at ad post (like it is now) or require registration/login first would be something to consider for your next plugin update.

Also creating an add-on that allows users post an ad anonymously (have a pass code to manage/edit ad with no user account needed) would be a cool too.

I use this plugin on a few sites now (even replaced other ‘classifieds’ plugins with this one) so thanks again for the great plugin.

Hi, you can disallow not-logged-in users to posts ads using a “requires” param in the [adverts_add] shortcode (although i am not sure if this will fit your needs)

    [adverts_add requires="read"]

The above will allow only users with capability “read” to post ads, you can further add to it a requires_error param to display a custom error message which can first redirect the user to FB registration.

The ability to allow unregistered users to manage their Ads is something i want to add to WPAdverts, probably to the core. Thanks for the suggestions.
