    Hi,

I have a question. When I first install WP few days ago, it was using Twenty Twelve, Twenty Thirteen, & Twenty Fourteen but the blog doesn’t display author name. Maybe because I need to turn it on or something? Anyway, I found a theme that suit my purpose, Genbu, because it has a two sidebars feature (one on each side: Left & Right side of the blog). It display author’s name but I noticed that it is displaying my username from the WordPress website, not my actual username (Ken Heath) on my website?

I am not sure if this is JetPack’s doing or if it is Theme issue? Sorry if I am pestering with question but I hope you can understand. I’ve posted issue at Theme’s support hoping to find answer. Thanks!

    Update:

Ok, I switched to new Theme, NewBar & Annarita, and it is still displaying my WordPress username (wkheathjr) instead of my website username (Ken Heath) so it is clear that the bug is JetPack, not the theme..

I hope you can resolve this ASAP!

    Thanks!

    Hi,

The only time Jetpack changes the display name is when you’re using the Google+ Profile module and have connected authorship to a Google+ account (since Google requires the author’s name used as the byline when using authorship).

Otherwise, this is a core WordPress function. On your user profile (via Users->Your Profile), the Display name publicly as field is used ( https://cloudup.com/cLV9o80OQfI ), at least in Twenty Fourteen, etc. Other themes may use something else.

It’s possible, too, that another plugin is changing the display name.

Yes, that fixed the problem by deactivating Google+ Profile in admin end. Thanks!

    Resolved!
