• Users that made a purchase will not get the ‘customer’ role.

For example, a subscriber may purchase products but after the payment the user still not have the ‘customer’ capabilities no role.

Users that are registered through the WooCommerce register form become ‘customer’.

There is a specific reason for this behavior?

If a user can buy products I expect that after a purchase that user become a ‘customer’.

  • There is no rule like that. Subscriber is a user who registered with standard WordPress form, Customer – via Woocommerce. You can select all (or some) and move them to customers if you need. If your site is shop only (no blog), you may even add redirect from standard WP registration url to Woo registration form to prevent more “subscribers” from appearing.

I think this should not be the behavior, why an user that can purchase products have not customer role? Doesn’t make sense.
