Users are unsubscribed without clicking “unsubscribe”

  • I am running Noptin (free version) on multiple clients’ websites for simple post notification emails to their membership lists. Recently, several clients are reporting that users are getting unsubscribed without them clicking unsubscribe. All the users who this affects have Gmail accounts. All of the users without exception have said “I never clicked unsubscribe.” For several people, after re-subscribing and it working for a while, they get unsubscribed again. One user has had it happen to him four times.

    First, is there any way of tracking down how this happened?

    Second, is there any way of preventing it from happening?

    Third… is there some sort of bug in Noptin?
