Hello, this issue started a few WP versions ago.
I can’t get the users.php page from my control panel and when i put in the navigator manually, (https://www.diegocosta.com.ar/wp-admin/users.php) i get the error: cheating? Uh? and can’t get it too.
I have installed the Role Manager Plugin also.

I detected many bot’s registering on my site, and easily removed them from wp-users table in my phpmyadmin.

I reinstalled the WP and still have the same problem.

    Any clue?

PS: i search on previous topics on forum and didn’t find anything like this.

Ask me for any code and ill put in here

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

Thank you esmi for reply. I did, i deactivate all plugins and change for the default theme. Then i login again, refresh, delete cookies and cache, but still the same.
As i told before, i have role manager plugin, wich allows to make roles capabilities and permissions to the site.

I remember once, one of the new users looks like spam to me, so i went to the users list and can’t find him. At that time i just had around 15 users, so that was very strange.

I think some kind of hack change some code but don’t know for sure, the WP upgrade must erased it?

    Excuse my bad english.

I just realize that i lost admin privileges when update WP from 2.9 to 3.01. There is a BIG bug somewhere. I just rollback and all works fine again.
    Grrrrrrrrrrrrr
    I don’t want to stay on 2.9 for ever…

Did you deactivate all plugins and switch to the default theme before upgrading? There’s no upgrade issue like this that I’m aware of.

    Thanx again esmi.
I installed 3.0.1 and get the error. Then i put 2.9.2 and all ok. Then, as you recomended, i deactivate all plugins and switch to the default theme before upgrading, and upgrade again. Same error.
Then i roll back to 3.0, same error.
Then i roll back again, to 2.9.2 and all is ok.

The database was untouched every time i upgraded or rollbacked, so i think WP modify some on db itself (a message says something like: We need to modify your db, please be patient).

I think there is a bug somewhere. I have copy from my db 3.0.1 and 2.9.2. Maybe someone can match diferences?

Last but not least, im running in local machine a 3.0.1 with another db, and everything is ok. Same plugins, same theme.

This must be reported as a bug?

Contact your hosts and ask them to temporarily increase the memory you have available so that you can run the upgrade.
