Users not getting emails when there's a reply to a comment

  • Hi there. I’m new to all this so I wonder if you can help me. I’ve recently replied to my friend’s comment in a post but they’ve told me they didn’t receive an email telling me there was a reply.

    Also, when I approve a comment, there user doesn’t get an email telling them of this either.

    Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    take a look at the plugin notify me, should helb with the approved comments.
    Also take a look at the plugin Subscribe to comments for your second request.
    Both is not (any longer) a standard of wordpress.

    Thanks WiSch. I’ve just tested “Notify Me”. It appears to email the user after I approve their comment but they get an email saying “New comment on your post ” rather than something like “Your comment was approved”.

    Any ideas?
