• I change it in the options menu so that any registered member cannot post news.

    So what is the point in registering? Why have you guys done on your blogs that make it worth registering.

    Cheers.

    There is a hack which only allows registered users to post comments, thus eliminating comment spam. So, effectively, you would have a lot of registered members, and you wouldn’t want all of them to be able to post.

    Could you give me a link to this hack?

    Nvm, I found it and got it installed.

    In 1.5 it’s a feature … not a hack. No plugin required. ??

    edit: Actually, I’m not exactly sure where the threshold level can be set to deny registered users to post blog entries.

    I can see where to set the minimum level for registered users to upload files but not to set the minimum level for blog entries.

    Anyone?

    Options->General Memebership
    “Users must be registered and logged in to comment” checkbox.

    That’s all the control you get without a plugin.

    I controlled users from being able to Post, by making a Menu.php modification discussed on another thread. This is actually beneficial in that I only want others to comment to posts I made.
