Users unable to leave comments: “Some of field value is invalid” error message

The title says it all. I’ve tried everything and ensured all appropriate boxes are ticked to allow sitewide commenting, etc. But still visitors to my site see a message saying they’re logged in as me (the admin) and get the error message when they try to leave a comment. Please help!
