Users/admin not getting registration emails

I’m having a huge issue with WP 2.7 not sending the email with the temp password to new users to my site. The admin is also not getting a registration email when users sign up. All the settings I want are correct in the the Settings menu, but no emails. Is there something in the php files I need to update or something. GoDaddy has my emails activated but still nothing. I’ve even used the plugins that everybody says to use to fix the issue and those don’t work. Any help would be appreciated.
