    Hello,
    I would like to use the plugin with WordPress build-in galleries and have a question to the setting “link to media-file as default”.

    All my galleries are coded like
    [gallery ids="2399,2400,2401"] and every image links to the attachment page.

    But I would like to open the images directly in the lightbox.
    This only happens if I change my shortcode to
    [gallery link="file" ids="2399,2400,2401"]

    Shouldn’t the above setting force the behaviour of link=”file” automatically?

    thank you very much for writing us.

    At the moment we do not override the outgoing gallery code. The “link to media file as default” does only change the behaviour when creating a new gallery: It sets the link to the media-file as de pre-defined option.

    Your idea to make a “force” checkbox is on our “requested features list” now and we will include it in one of the future releases.

    Thank you for the clarification of the function! At the moment, I use a other plugin for creating the lightbox, but since this is packed full with features I don’t need, I would be happy to switch to WF Magnific Lightbox. The “Force” Option would be very helpful for existing galleries.

    I have committed a new development version (0.9.2 – currently in beta) with a new option “Force the ‘Link to Media File’ as default value for galleries“. It should enable the feature you have requested.

    So – please stay happy and switch to WF Magnific Lightbox! ??
