Using a clone to install new theme

    If I clone my website, and use the clone to install a new theme, I make any changes/fixes on the clone, can I then use the clone to replace the live site? I am not a web designer, but have been asked to be so for our non-profit. I need to switch the theme on our site, but am struggling with the best way to do so. Any guidance is appreciated!

    Yes, you can definitely do that. However, please note the following: if you overwrite the live page with the clone, all content there will also be replaced by that of the clone. Any changes you made to the live web after creating the clone will be lost.

    If your hosting supports staging sites, that would be best choice.
