Using a cloned site as default site

I have logged a support ticket with Gravity Forms too, but it might be worth sharing with you:

I use the User Registration Add-on for Multisite registration.
The process works perfectly with the default WordPress registration process.
However, using Gravity User Reg add-on, I experience a few issues.

1.) User signs up using Gravity Forms & UserRegistration Add on.

2.) User received a onscreen message, and an email to activate his site / account.
Note: the Footer copyright still show the correct Name: Dohne Sites – which is the footer of the main site.

3.) Once user click on activation email, their site is created, However, the login link goes to mooiplaas.dohne.co.za/wp-login.php instead of testuser.dohne.co.za/wp-login.php
Note: I am using the Multisite Cloner plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/multisite-cloner/ to set a default site to be clone for new sites.
So I tested this by deactivating the Clone plugin, to make sur ethey are not the culprit.
The result: the Logon link links die dohne.co.za/wp-login.php instead of testuser.dohne.co.za/wp-login.php

The User Reg add-on is probably doing something after the blog is created, that is in conflict with this Cloner plugin.

Since the GF plugin and add-ons are not free, we can’t further help you on this.

You could try, but I’m not optimistic, to lower the priority of the Cloner plugin, by editing this line in multisite-cloner.php:

add_action( 'wpmu_new_blog', array($this, 'set_new_blog'), 1, 1);

Change the first “1” to “999”, so it will look like this:

add_action( 'wpmu_new_blog', array($this, 'set_new_blog'), 999, 1);

I deactivated Gravity forms, and tried with a complete default scenario.
The attached screenshot shows that the footer credit sudenly change once activated.
And it changes to the credit if the site that was initially the clone from site, and not the current one which is Remhoogte.

I have cleared cache, deactivated plugins etc…
Any help will be much appreciated.

Maybe try re-enabling this site? https://mooiplaas.dohne.co.za/

The footer should definitely change to the Remhoogte one, since it’s the default to clone from.

Just to make sure, you could try creating a new blog from the admin, to see if that works.

Thank you for getting back to me;
I deactivated / deleted the Mooiplaas site afterwards, and now actoavted again, but no difference.

Your suggestion to try and create a site from admin:
The issue is not with the final site that is created, as there is shows the correct footer credit.
It is with the 3rd part of the screenshot; the “Mooiplaas” should be Dohne Sites ( in pink box )
( I think earlier I said is should be Remhoogte – oops )
