Using a list with some emails missing

I wonder if this will work:
I have a list of clients with some not having an e-mail.
What will happen if I use that list for sending newsletters?
The members on the list cannot be deleted as there are other data that need to be preserved.
One could of course copy the list and delete the ones without email addresses, but just wonder what would happen if there are no addresses.
