    Hello,

I’m considering to install EWWWio in my site, but I’m undecided if use the API or the standard free features. Here are my questions:

    – Can I use the API in the standard install or only in the Cloud version of the plugin?
    – Since I’m a photographer, I need to keep my images “pixel-perfect” while squeezing out every byte I can to grant fast loading time; is there a lot of difference between the standard Lossless compression and the Maximum Lossless compression unlocked by API purchase? Otherwise, is the Maximum Lossy compresson a viable option even if it doesn’t retain all the image quality? I’ve done some experimenting with TinyJPG and it seems almost ok, except for color gradients (like clean skies).
    – If I activate a CDN like Amazon CloudFront after installing EWWWio, will I run into some kind of compatibility issues?

    Thanks for your support.
    Best Regards
    Claudio

You can use the API with both versions of the plugins. The difference between the free lossless and max lossless is 1-3% usually.

There is quite a huge difference between lossless and lossy. On overage, TinyJPG saves 30-40% more than lossless compression. If you’re not quite satisfied with that, check out jpegmini.com, which is what we use for the regular lossy compression. It gets about 20-25% better than lossless, and is faster than TinyJPG.

Lastly, there shouldn’t be any trouble using Cloudfront with EWWW IO.
