Using Child Template or Create Entirely New Template?

  • Hi,

    I’m currently creating a entirely different template from the TwentySixteen template. I wonder what TwentySixteen brings to the table and if I should create a new template that does not have any dependencies on any wordpress templates?

    I’m saying this because I will be adding bootstrap to the theming project and I wouldn’t want bootstrap styles to clash with wordpress’ styles.

    Please advise ??

    If u want to create the custom template then it is not necessary to create a child theme.Child theme are only for those theme that are on the www.ads-software.com repository because the themes get instantly updated after certain period which may get updated along with parent theme.
