Using Child Theme theme.json to customize theme settings
-
Hi! I normally copy the parent theme.json file into my child theme so I can modify the preset colours, fonts (so I can use locally located custom fonts), sizes… An usually it works fine, but in this case I’m starting a site and all the changes made to my theme.json Child Theme file are not making any impact. I can’t see my custom font on the site editor, neither my custom colours. In the frontend ths font (Rubik) manages to show, because I set it in the body inside my custom CSS, but I can’t control the font-weight. I should have seven weights but in practice there’re only two, chsnging on 600.
I’m pretty sure I’ve done what I always do but somehow this time it’s not working. I’m also using the same theme, Spectra One, (I also tried with 2024, but didn’t solve the problem) as always and the same plugins. I wonder if it could be WP 6.4 but I tried rolling back but didn’t have any luck.
Does someone here know what I could try? How could I confirm that really my Child Theme is not overriding the parent theme?
Thanks
