• Greetings,

i would like to use the internal comment system of wordpress within custom non wp pages.

    The status is this.
I created a main site like myname.com. I integratet the loop into it.
The WordPress CMS lay in myname.com/en/.

I googled a bit about using the comment system but didn’t find a solution. If i include the comments template nothing is happend and that could be because the sites which i try to include it on are not registered within the wordpress Database.

So my question is. How would it be possible to use the comment system in non wordpress registered pages (or register a site to the comment system).

  • You want to use WordPress’s commenting system on a non-WordPress site?

If I’m reading that correctly, then you can’t do that. WordPress comments are not designed as a stand-alone component in the way that Disqus is.

    Hi Kjodle,

i included WordPress in the mainsite https://news.gnitter.de . The Blog is in truth laying here news.gnitter.de/de/.

I would like to use the comment feature for Dynamic Entrys like this
    https://news.gnitter.de/?hash=a8815cf584c9a84e20495f528fda205c&lang=en

I can included the blog to the News and the comment template but it wont show up and i think the reason is because the sites are not registered in the WP Database.

I think this is not possible, wordpress’ comment system relies on internal functions included in wordpress. So kjodle is correct.

I would recommened just using Disqus, because to get WordPress comments to work on non WP pages will require serious hacking wordpress core, or you can say in that hacking, we will almost create a new Standalone Comment system. So would recommend go on using Disqus

    Hmm, sadly ok.

I tried a bit with disqus but the integration between Buddypress and it seems to be working not really correctly i had a lot of issues with it and so Disqus wasn’t a good choice.

As example to use the user profile of buddypress with a registration on disqus seemed not to work.

I reviwed Disqus again and it seems to be a very dirty solution, the bug list is so intense that i prefer to do some core hacking. But i wondern why there seem to be no other that try to do this.

as example the bugs with Disqus,
    – comments are all closed while commenting
    – SSO Login won’t work
    – No Profile Sync

The question is yust, wat is needed for WP to allow commenting on sites? What about to sycn external pages with wordpress?

The question is yust, wat is needed for WP to allow commenting on sites?

What is needed is to use WordPress for those sites. You can’t just pull out a component from WordPress (or any CMS, for that matter) to use on another site that does not use that CMS.

as example the bugs with Disqus,

A LOT of people use Disqus without any problem. Have you taken up any of these issues with them, to see if they can help you resolve them?
