• I’m using a Child theme of twenty eleven on a re-design of my website at . I’m designing the new site in a sub-folder prior to launch. I’m struggling with instructions I’ve found on how to make my home page look entirely different from the rest of my site. I want it to look like the current home page: https://www.atlanticliners.com.

    Following the instructions here https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/use-html-page-as-homepage-instead-of-indexphp-how?replies=6

    I’ve already
1)Created a page within my site called “home”.
2)Gone into Settings->Reading and set the Front Page to “home”
3)In the CHILD theme folder, created a file called “page-home.php”.

Now, I come to the part I do not understand. The instructions on the thread referred to above just says “dump your code in there”. But I don’t know where in the file to place it, whether there are bits I need to delete from the new page-home.php before dumping the html code in there, or if there are bits from the html code of that home page that shouldn’t be in there. Right now the page is previewing as just a blank white page.
