    Hi,

I made two customized page template “category-3.php” and “category-3-second.php” for the category 3 section. “category-3.php” is for the first page to appear for the category 3 section and it works fine, but when I click on “Older Entries” the second page still shows up as the default template and the entries don’t appear in the page either… Can anyone please tell me what I’m supposed to do to use “category-3-second.php” for the rest of the pages in the category 3?

    Thanks!

You can’t use a category-3-second.php as a template. category-3.php will be used for every Category 3 page. What is it that you’re trying to do?

Oh really? ok, here is what i want to do.

When you go to category 3 it loads the index page of category 3 which is category-3.php. The index page has a header with introduction text for the section. Then you go to next page to see more entries with the header without introduction page (which I want to use category-3-second.php.

Is it possible? or is there any other way to do this?

Thanks for the link. It looks like it’s doable. Actually now the problem is that the “older entries” page is not working. When i click on it it takes you to an error page. Do you think it’s because I’m using custom structure in Permalinks?

Possibly. What structure are you using?

I figured it out. It was Permalinks problem and with a little plugin and a trick of adding .html it works!
