Using Elementor to draft a site while standard WP site remains up

    Hi. I’ve yet to install the plugin as I’m redesigning a site for a company aside from my own, and can’t have any hitches in the process.

    I just need to know whether I can install this plugin and draft a site without it going live, while the current site remains up and operational until the new one is complete.

    I can’t find any documentation about this, so any advice would be helpful. Thanks much!

  • Hey there,

    You can design the website and export each page as a template which can be imported into your new website. Create the pages and apply the template.

    I prefer to design in the existing website to avoid wasting time creating content for the post layout etc.

    Hi,
    I’m kinda new with Elementor also, but I know you need to set up a staging site within your host, or develope on a localhost so you can do all your developing separate from the live site.
    Hope this helps!

    You can use a program like Local by Flywheel to set up a staging site with WordPress
