Using Excerpt for description doesn’t seem to work?

    I have the setting Excerpt as meta desc? set to yes.

    When i did a test post I added different text to the first non heading block in gutenberg and i set the excerpt text in the gutenberg side bar.

    However the metadata added to the page used the first non-heading block and not the excerpt text.

    Not sure if this is a bug or if i did something wrong?

    Hi,

    Thanks for reporting this issue. Currently, the plugin creates the excerpt by taking the first lines of the post content and applying some formatting.

    There are many other overriding options, but I’ve managed to take this case into account (reference)

    It will be shipped with the next incoming version.

    thanks, i think this will make lots of folks as it means excerpt will be used consistently
