Using %%excerpt%% for meta description shows nothing

    Hello,

    Using %%excerpt%% for posts meta description shows nothing, however leaving the field blank does show a description.

    Any idea what’s going on?

    I started using Yoast today and have the same probelm.

    I get no auto creation on posts or pages when using %%excerpt%% on Theme Virtue.

    The theme creator recomended Yoast so now I do not know how to move on.

    This function works as expected in “All in one SEO” that I had before.

    Please advice.

    Please note that this is only a display issue in the Yoast SEO metabox and the description on the front end will include the excerpt.
