• Hi guys.
    I’m using expound template and trying to show “author name” on main page,

    <?php the_author(); ?>

    I’m trying to show author on home page and not in a particular article where it works pretty fine.
    I’m totally unaware with php coding so please help me. Where should i put this extra string? On which php file and which position.

    Please help. R

    You should create a child theme to override some of Expound’s template files. If you’re looking for the front page, look at content.php.

    Hope that helps!

    I am trying to do the same thing: add author names under the titles on the main home page. I tried adding the previously mentioned function reference in a couple of different places in the content.php file, but the changes don’t seem to do anything at all.

    Dear Joshbush i commissioned a plugin that do exaclty what we need.
    You can see it working properly on https://www.ecodimantova.it
    You can choose if you want it just before or after an article, if you want an avatar (dimension of avatar customizable) and the style of test.
    I paid for it 80$. If you give me 40$ i’ll give it to you, you can test it. It works properly on my site but i do not provide for any customization of the code becouse i cannot code.
    Let me know.

    That looks really good on your site, and it’s a great addition that elevates this theme. The cost of the plugin is a bit much for my purpose right now, but I will keep it in mind as I move forward.
