Using Field Attributes to Control How Images are Displayed?
-
Here’s the scenario:
My site contains two separate image fields. One for the featured image (single image upload). The second image field is for a gallery (multi-image upload).
The problems are with the gallery. When Directory Tools creates the proxy posts, instead of a gallery of thumbnails that can be clicked on to bring up the carousel, they are being displayed as individual full size images.
Secondly, the image credits are currently embedded in the media library image metadata caption field cuz this is the only field that will work with the current posting of the images and only then by displaying the image credits when hovering over an image.
I can actually create individual pages where all of this works fine. I just don’t understand how to get the proxy posts to do what I want.
Since there is an “attributes” field in the fields management screen, associated with each field, I’m gathering that this field could possibly be used to add attributes that will direct Directory Tools how to manage the images.
So, my questions are:
Can this “attributes” field be used to direct Directory Tools on how to display the images? If so, how can I achieve the following?
+Show the images as thumbnails (preferably in a nice grid layout) in each post.
+When clicking on an image, bring up the carousel to scroll through the images.
+Display the metadata associated with each image in the media library: Title, Caption, Alt Text, Description.Am I too hopeful that this is a simple solution? Or will this take more styling in the template used by Directory Tools? I’m no HTML/CSS coder.
Directory Tools is configured to “Display Using PDB Shortcode”.
