  • You’ve got art in your soul, man!

Personally I’d use Pictorialis II, because it’s WordPress on Kodak/Fuji/Nikon/Leica steroids…plus it’s free, (flikr basic is free, I know).
The only caveat to this is that while flikr has lots of resources to draw from, Pictorialis II is a one-person show…even though that person is an awesome coder…

Thanks for the good words Frenchie91.
And NuclearMoose, thanks. I will have a look at Pictorialis II.
I would love to be an awesome coder, but all that code jumbles together in front of my eyes and drives me crazy not understanding it. Thanks to you and podz and other like you, I can at least get a very basic understanding – but it’s difficult.
I suppose I will have to be satisfied just being an awesome photographer!!

I figure that flickr looks to do what you want for now. But bandwidth may be an issue if you get more users to look at your folders. you might want to find a alternate method

I’m working on a plugin that does exactly that. You can see my progress at https://www.worrad.com/flickr-gallery.php.
It supports photosets, notes, and EXIF data. I’ll be releasing the plugin this weekend.

    wilf,
I’ve released my Flickr Gallery plugin if you are still interested. You can get it at https://www.worrad.com/archives/2004/11/20/flickr-gallery-wp-plugin/.

Is there a way to have a site like https://www.focusonparis.com, where there is one image from a gallery in the blog and then by clicking on the image takes you to the remaining images without using flickr? something where all the images are saved on the same server the blog is on?

What is the difference between using the WP Database compared to the Flickr Filing system?
You both upload your pics to the web. You will display them in your WP weblog so why is Flickr such a big hit.
Can anyone explain that to me?
    George

PLEASE DONT DO IT!!!! IT IS UNBEARABLE LEAVING BLOGS TO SEE PHOTOS – IF FLICKR IS SO COOL THEN WHY DONT THEY MAKE A REALLY COOL PLUGIN LIKE EVERY OTHER FREAKING WORDPRESS DEVELOPER!!!

i’m using rdarrows plugin (flickr-gallery) with wordpress 1.5 and love it

with the recent upgrades to flickr and the addition of the yahoo login and flickr login, flickr-gallery seems to have quit working for me. Please check out the following link if you are interested in incorporating flickr sets into your blog. this plugin is similar to flickr-gallery, but seems to be a little cleaner and in use and look.
