Using Google adsense

AdSense is fully compatible and has been for as long as AdRotate exists.
When it times out, note the time and check your servers error_log. See if anything related to AdRotate pops up.

Unfortunately there are no error logs relating to Adesnse. The page will start to try to load the manage adverts overview page but refuses to load after clicking save adverts. Reloading the page brings you back to the manage adverts page but does not reflect the changes made in the create or edit advert page.

This only seems to occur using google ads, plain text or an image works fine.

Right, which suggests an error of some kind.
Most errors are logged in the error_log. Of course, since you are in AdRotate the error will mention AdRotate. Not Adsense.
