• I’m testing Wordfence with my blog this weekend and wondering if any of the items I’ve included in my current .htaccess may conflict with or affect the performance of Wordfence. It includes common WP hardening tips, bad bot blocking by ip and user agent, and code to prevent hotlinking at some sites. A copy of my pre-WF .htaccess is located at https://www.allthingsdemocrat.com/block-bad-bots-in-htaccess.txt. Wordfence inserted its code above mine in htaccess. It doesn’t appear to have any problems with all of the code together. In fact, I deactivated and deleted W3TC and Bad Behavior before installing Wordfence and now it actually tests a few seconds faster in online test sites with Falcon enabled.

    Thanks!

I meant to say that Wordfence with Falcon tests faster than W3TC and Bad Behavior. And that’s with keeping all of my WP hardening statements, bad bots blocking, and preventing hotlinking statements in .htaccess in addition to the statements added at the top of .htaccess by Wordfence.
