    Hello!

I am trying to set up Hustle pop-ups to collect email addresses in a membership website that uses the Paid Memberships Pro plugin.

My website uses a double opt-in process to collect email addresses.

The WP Mail SMTP plugin uses GoDaddy email (i.e., hosting account provided email) to send emails from the website.

Can you please tell me how I configure Hustle to send the email to the user for address confirmation?

Would the email address be added automatically to the WordPress’s User table and Paid Memberships Pro’s Member tables after the user confirms?

    Thanks,
    Melissa

    Hi @melissa-davis

I hope you are doing well.

I’m afraid the only option that Hustle has is to send a confirmation email:

Once the user is added to the subscriber list it won’t be directly added on the membership plugin, as it would require some custom coding.

Unless the membership plugin has a shortcode for user registration, in this case, you can create an Informational PopUp which won’t include the Hustle native email fields, and then you can paste the plugin shortcode on Hustle Content > Text:

Let us know if you have any additional question.

    Hello Patrick,

    Thanks for your helpful response.

The membership plugin does have a shortcode for user registration. However, I could not find a way to remove Hustle’s native e-mail field from the e-mail pop-up. Do I need to switch to a slide-in type of popup to use the shortcode?

By using the shortcode on the slide-in popup, I presume the user record would be complete in both the WordPress’s User table and Paid Memberships Pro’s Member tables. Please confirm.

Also, can you possibly tell me where I can read about the types of rules I can use to limit the popup’s display to specific pages or post categories?

    Thanks much,
    Melissa

    Hi @melissa-davis,

Sounds like you have “Email-Optin” popup created. You’ll have to create a new popup called “Informational” where Hustle won’t have native email fields.

You should find the option by clicking the “Create” button under Hustle > Popu-ups,screenshot:

Once the popup is created you can add the plugin shortcode in the Hustle Content.

By using the shortcode on the slide-in popup, I presume the user record would be complete in both the WordPress’s User table and Paid Memberships Pro’s Member tables. Please confirm.

Hustle only displays the content of the shortcode, its the Membership plugin shortcode that completes in both WP user table if it supports such action. If the Membership plugin performs it out of the box it should work fine within the popup too.

Also, can you possibly tell me where I can read about the types of rules I can use to limit the popup’s display to specific pages or post categories?

The configuration regarding those should be quite straight forward, ie under “Visibility Rules” you just have to select the page or category condition etc and it should work according to your selection.

For more details, you can find the Hustle documentation regarding this in here:

    Hi Nithin,

Thanks for your reply and help.

I am able to get the short code from the membership plugin to work on the pop-up with Informational setting.

The short code is also able to write the membership information into the relevant plug-in tables.

Lastly, I am now able to get the Visibility to rules to work as well.

    So 3/3 all issues resolved!

Thanks a bunch for your guidance!

    Best regards,
    Melissa
