• Hi there. Your plugin info says ‘data is automatically extracted from images if location is present’ but how does one use that? What I’d like to have is a post with an image on it and the geolocation data from the image is associated with the post. I can’t see how to do this though. If I try Lookup in the Location metabox, I get ‘User denied geolocation’. But that suggests it is trying to find my current location anyway, rather than the location in the image data. Any suggestions? Thanks!

The plugin imports the location into attachment metadata and would show on the attachment page.

I believe your expectation was that it be imported into the attached post… I’ve thought about that…. but I couldn’t quite figure out how it would behave…posts might have multiple photos…

How do you think it should work?

Thanks David. Hm, yeah, good question! In my case I’m only thinking of it being a single image (and therefore being able to access the lat/long would be useful, eg in a custom field I guess would be handy). I agree there’s not an obvious answer for multiple images, unless they can all be plotted with markers on a map maybe.

(Edit: in a test I can’t see the geolocation data in the attachment page anyway – the Location appears as a column in the media library but it isn’t picking up the actual location info, and the Location fields are blank on the attachment page. I know the data is there because I have used the EXIF Details plugin to prove that the geodata has imported with the image.)

You can in the attachment details… let me see what I can do about an ability to sync it to the parent post.
