    Hi!

    I’m trying to set up Jetpack on a staging site (using WP Staging plugin). I followed the instructions here and edited my wp-config:

    https://jetpack.com/support/staging-sites/

    I’m seeing the “You are running Jetpack on a staging server.” infobox, but I’m also seeing this other message: “The registration secrets sent by your site do not match the ones the Jetpack server has on record.” Hence, I’m not being able to use/set up Jetpack.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks!

    Eva

    Hi Eva –

    Could you post your site URL here, so I can have a look?

    If you want it to remain private, you can also contact us via this contact form:

    Hi @lizkarkoski,

    thanks for your message!

    The staging site is private as it’s undergoing development. Because of that I did try to contact Jetpack support via the form before coming to this forum, but I just keep going round in loops in https://jetpack.com/contact-support/ (I log in > get redirected to https://jetpack.com/contact-support/ > log in again > repeat ad eternum… ?? ). I cannot post.

    Is there a support email address I can contact you at? Or a different contact form?

    Thanks!

    Hi –

    Yikes. Lets see if we can get this fixed up.

    Are you signed in to your WordPress.com account when trying to use the form? What happens if you try it from a different browser?

    Hi,

    yes, I was signed in. This happened in Chrome on Mac. Switched to Safari and can use the form, so sent an email to support.

    Thanks!

    Awesome! I’m happy that worked. Do you know off hand if you have any browser extensions enabled in Chrome – it’s possible one of those were causing issues.

    We answer these requests in the order they come in to us. You should hear soon.

    @ecabral

    Since we’re addressing this issue via a private support request, we’re marking it as resolved.

    @ecabral @pmciano Can you post the solution to this?

    @renehermi – no solution from my side… This never got fixed for me, so I gave up JetPack.

    I am sorry to hear Eva. I’ve assumed you received a solution in the meantime. As I am the developer of WP Staging this was in my own interest.

    Have a great holiday season.

    @ecabral

    Even though you do not use jetpack any longer I want to provide a solution for you which I’ve got from jetpack support:

    With WP Staging Access permission restricted, WordPress.com cannot connect to your site. To resolve this you can do:

    – Disabled access permission in WP Staging plugin.

    – Connect Jetpack to your account

    – Re-enabled access permission in WP Staging plugin

    Jetpack seems to be enabled now.

    Cheers
    René
