Using Jetpack with a .dev local site

Hi

I backed up an online site and brought it offline and added it to Desktop Server which uses the extension .dev on all the development sites. All the images were broken. I did a search on the wp com link the images had and found out that Photon was breaking the images.

I noticed that Photon does not work (Gateway Time out error) it seems because of this extension is present. Is is possible for you guys to add a check to Jetpack that also includes a .dev adding the most used development extensions? Right now I turned off Photon on my dev site and all the images are now seen.

“Development mode automatically gets enabled if you don’t have a period in your site’s hostname, i.e. localhost. If you use a different URL, such as mycooltestsite.local or something, then you will need to define the JETPACK_DEV_DEBUG constant.”
