    Hi,

I switched to LayerSlider for a slideshow but I got a basic one up (to see how it works). I followed the instructions in another thread and put the short code in a text widget in the Showcase Frontpage Widget area and only the words of the short code show up.

I’m obviously doing something wrong but am not sure what.

<a href=” I’ve switched to LayerSlider (which I love) and you mentioned. I put the shortcode in a text widget in the Showcase Front Page widget area but only the shortcode words show up. Obviously I’m doing something wrong but don’t know what. This is the instruction from another thread.

  • I generally don’t provide support for third party plugins, but for this one, it’s fairly simply I hope….But make sure your shortcode looks something like this:

    [layerslider id="1"]

Also make sure your slideshow is published too. If you run into problems still, I would recommend contacting the developer of that plugin.

Thanks. I’ll contact them because I’ve got it all as you say. Thanks.

It works if I put the short code on a page but not if I put it in the showcase widget.

Kate, try meta slider. I’m a newbie and have just installed it and it seems to work reasonably well. Hope that helps.

Thanks Farmweld, but I ended up NOT using the Showcase header for my slider (and I really love LayerSlider). It ended up not looking right as it made the slides much too large for what I was looking for. Thanks though!
