• Hello,

I am trying to use the media element js player that is built into WordPress for youtube.
Using the shortcode doesn’t work with a youtube link so I tried just adding the player manually from mediaelementjs.com but that also didn’t work, I am guessing from some sort of conflict with the WordPress version maybe

Does anyone know of a way to Use the wordpress player(for continuity in design with youtube videos?

    Thanks In advance
    Matt

You should be able to simply place a plain YT link in your content on its own line and WP will take care of the rest. The link cannot have anything in front or after it on the same line, not even whitespace. See Embeds for more information.

If that does not work, you may have a plugin or theme conflict which can be narrowed down by deactivating all plugins and switching to twentysixteen. The oEmbed should work now. Switch to your normal theme, the activate plugins, each one at a time. When oEmbed fails to work, the last activated code is the problem.
