• Hey there,

I am using WP MultiSite for a network of pages, each using it’s own domain. I’ve got a single SSL certificate covering all domains. So far, so good … but whenever I add a site, I have to get a new certificate again covering all new subdomains and domains.

Is there a way to use multiple certificates? Might as well be a problem with my provider Host Europe/Go Daddy, which is configuring certificates by folder on the server, not by domain.

Any ideas? These multi certificates always cost quite a lot ??

    Cheers from Germany, -martin

SSL certificates are handled by webserver software, it is better to ask your webhost support

Yui, thanx. From their side it’s not possible to implement more than one certificate. And yes, you’re right, these things happen on the server and can’t be solved with plugins etc. …

So I guess one should plan multi sites very wisely with regard to the use of SSL. While it’s cool to have genuine domains per site, it might make more sense to use one domain, multiple sub domains and a wildcard certificate to cover it all.
