Using negative amounts as an add on

I would like to be able to reduce the price of an item based on whether they choose the option “No Core”. Why is it that WooCommerce won’t allow you to do this and, is there any program that will allow this? Cores are default in my products but if they don’t want a core I want to be able to deduct 3.00 for that core. I don’t want to lower my prices and then add the 3.00 because I want the core to be default. I really do have a very good reason for wanting to do things this way. I have searched and searched for an option for this but have found nothing.
