Using One Theme in Multiple Websites but with Separate Theme Editing

    I would like to use a theme(Twenty-Fourteen for example) in several websites on my wordpress multisite. Since I want the theme to have separated features for any website(when I edit one theme, the others don’t change) so I have copied the theme folder in themes directory of wp-content in my cPanel of the host and created several same themes by different names and set theme for the websites on my multisite. Now when I modify the header of the theme of site1, the changes don’t appear. So I always need to change the main theme and by this way, all sites are affected!

    Don’t copy the theme, make multiple child themes ??

    Though are you sure you MUST have separate themes? Can you do the changes in MU plugins instead and have them run per site?
