Should the original image be used if there’s not an exact retina for large but its still bigger than large?

ie the large is 930 wide and the original is 1800 wide. But the 1800 is not replacing the 930 wide.

Why wasn’t the large for Retina created by the plugin? It should be ?? Original images are not added to the src-set currently.

That’s interesting Jordy why isn’t that mention that in the Plugin Details page? Surely thats a major failing of the plugin?

    Cheers

By default, the responsive images feature (the src-set) is managed by WordPress. The plugin adds @2x versions to those images. The original image not being an image created by the plugin, it shouldn’t be logically added by it. This could be, however, an option. I didn’t get the request so I have never implemented it.

I actually don’t see how that’s interesting, why it would be mentioned in the Plugin Details page, nor why it would be a major failing of the plugin. I am not sure I understand.

Its too small by 30 (or 60 pixels) so no x2 size was possible.
