    Hi Marcel,

We have a rotating banner banner ads using a the following post types: topbanner and bodybanner. I configured this in the dashboard and was able to see the option to use a URL for a feature image.

My question is can I use a Shortcode vs. a URL to include an image? The reason I’m using shortcode is that I have 3rd party solution called Geo Targetly (geotargetly.com) which allows me to create images and links that geo-targeted based country my site visitor is located.

I saw you support post about a year ago indicating you added this as a beta feature in the premium version of your product but I didn’t see that indicated in the dashboard of your current free plugin. Can you please confirm that is the case and if so, how I can go about using shortcode vs. a url?

Appreciate your help and very nice plugin!

    Shaun

Also just wanted to note that I tried using the option “use first image as featured image” and tried adding the shortcode to the body of the post and its still not appearing.

    Hi, @shaunmehr.

Yes, there is a beta feature for Shortcode. So you could use anything as featured image. The problem is some themes can have problems with that, depending on the content you are trying to show there. So that’s not a feature that I have announced.

Basically you have to add the [shortcode] in a field, exactly as an URL. But that won’t work with the feature “use first image as featured image”.

I intend to create a showcase for that soon.

    So I would add the https://[short code].com ?

Could you please provide an example?

There is no “https://” or “.com”, @shaunmehr.

It’s just [shortcode]. There is no URL for shortcodes.
