Using slug in URL instead of ID number?

Hello, we’re going to make some customisations to your plugin and wondered if you could give any advice/insight on how you would approach using the location slug rather than the number id in the url.

For example at the moment we have:
mywebsite.com/jobs/?search_region=123

But for SEO benefit we would like to use the slug so were 123 is the region London, our url would look like this:

mywebsite.com/jobs/?search_region=london
