Using superscript in post title causes featured image to not display

  • I’m using WP Show Posts to display two posts on a page, with a featured image being displayed for each post.

    When superscript is used in the title of the post, WP Show Posts shows the HTML for the image rather than the featured image.

    Removing the superscript allows the featured image to display.

    I was able to duplicate this issue on my test site and my client site, on two different hosts.
