Using .svg or .svgz in Header

I am trying to find away to add a better version of my logo as a vector graphic into my header. I have already added the PJW Mime config to my plug ins, but there is something else that I need to do but I don’t know what yet.
I found another post about something called SVG1.1 but I am not sure how or in what way this could help me.

Any ideas??
