First of all, I’d like to thank you for a great plugin. It has drastically improved my one site.

However, on my second site, something hasn’t gone to plan. Before I installed the plugin, my site passed Google’s mobile-friendly test, presenting the correct version to mobile devices. After installing the plugin, my website fails Google’s mobile-friendly test because it presents the desktop version to mobile devices.

I ticked the following options after enabling the plugin:
    Logged-in Users
    New Post
    Minify HTML
    Minify Css
    Combine Css
    Combine Js
    Gzip

Is there something I shouldn’t tick, or something else I should tick? (I used these same settings on the first site which worked out well).

    Thank you.

    You should check following selection;

Mobile [] Don’t show the cached version for desktop to mobile devices

If you check it, the mobile devise users don’t see the desktop version.

    Thank you, Emre.

Please excuse my ignorance. If I check this option (Mobile: Don’t show the cached version…) does it mean that the other options I want (e.g. Minify CSS, etc) won’t improve the speed/performance of my site on mobile devices? (i.e. does checking this option nullify the other benefits of the plugin to mobile devices?)

    Thanks again!

Mobile cache is not available in the free version. Optimization is possible in the premium version.

    Your welcome

Hi Emre, one question out of curiosity: what does the mobile optimization brings in the premium version, it doesn’t in the free version?

    I’ve unchecked the following selection:

Mobile [] Don’t show the cached version for desktop to mobile devices

and performances where great on smartphone too (thought I noticed a huge drop in Adsense conversion/ CTR on smartphones since I’ve been using WPFC; can this be linked to the fact that website was showing the cached version for desktop to mobile devices?).

I’m really curious to see what premium mobile cache brings vs free version…

Hi Nik, first of all I need to say that if you do not use any mobile theme, you don’t need to use mobile cache feature. You have unchecked and it means that you show the same cache to the desktop and mobile users.

but sometimes webmasters use different theme for mobile users instead of using responsive theme.

Hi Emre, thanks for your answer, this makes sense! My website is using TeraNews, a responsive theme that delivers the exact content seen by desktop users, to mobile users (smartphones/tablets).

In this case, would you recommend me to activate or deactivate the mobile option below, to get best performance on smartphones/tablets?

Mobile [] Don’t show the cached version for desktop to mobile devices

If you use response theme, you can show the desktop cache to the mobile users so no need to check “mobile” option.
