Using the Read More Tags

  • I have my blog page not on my main page and have read in other forums that the read more tag doesn’t work unless the blog is your main page.

    I have found this to be the problem and wish to only display a short amount of text, or header image on my blog page, rather than the whole post. I have tried using the integrated “read more” tag, however this doesn’t work and I was wondering how to get this to work.

  • for example, the post ‘new york day 1’ has the ‘more tag’ – just, for some reason, the ‘more tag’ is right at the start of the post.

    generally, where exactly is the problem?

    are you unable to put the ‘more tag’ at any other location in the post?

    have you tried to add the ‘more tag’ into any other post?

    or are you referring to using the_excerpt() to show this short piece on the blog page?
