    Hello,

I’d like to use this plugin along with a child theme of Twenty Seventeen.

This plugin offers features that are pretty useful to me, but there was another thing that I wanted to add to my website, so I decided to make a child theme. Unfortunately all of the changes I made with the plugin were gone after I switched to my child theme. Is there a way to make both of them work? Maybe all I need to do is change something in a configuration file, but I’m new to this, so I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do.

As far as I know, the plugin settings are theme related and stored by the WordPress engine in conjunction with other theme parameters. Thus, you’d have to redo all settings manually in the new theme.

    Hi,

All theme mods are stored in a theme specific option. So if you change theme (even to a child theme) then you have to migrate the theme mods.

We are developing a plugin to do this but in the meantime you may need to do as Thierry says and copy them all across manually.

Sorry this has taken a while but we’ve finished the plugin Reset Customizer.

This plugin allows you to download the theme modifications from a parent theme and then upload and restore them to an active child theme.

Let me know if you have any issues.

    Oliver
