Using This Plugin With a URL (Wanting to FTP Docs to Server)

    Hi.

    Wondering if it’s possible to use this plugin with a file path URL from my server. We have many documents that change regularly, so an FTP overwrite helps with minimizing website maintenance.

  • Hi @ndar,

    Yes, the PDF Embedder will support embedding PDF documents from “external” sources (i.e. not from within the /wp-content/uploads/ directory). Because you are embedding from an external source, using the Classic editor or a Shortcode block would be the best way to proceed and manually enter the shortcode [pdf-embedder url="path-to-pdf.pdf"] where path-to-pdf.pdf is the file path to your FTP-uploaded document.

    This method will also work for documents served from S3, Dropbox, and other CDNs (https://wp-pdf.com/kb/hosting-pdfs-on-other-services-such-as-amazon-s3/)
