using trackback function

I have WP2.0 installed.

I’d like to know how to get trackback working.

I found documents that give code to use but I don’t understand how or where.

Do I need to modify the code?
Is there an interface in admin for trackback?
How do I control how links are displayed on my site?
etc.

I can’t find any posts or documents explaining all this..
