• I don’t know if I’m missing something obvious, but it isn’t working. I know it worked when I used b2. my b2 blog was at https://gizmobytes.com/elliot/b2 , but I moved it to https://elliot.gizmobytes.com when I upgraded to wordpress .71.
Now, w. bloggar. I choose b2 as my Blog Tool, since WordPress is built off of it and there is no option for wp. for host I have tried:
    elliot.gizmobytes.com
    https://www.gizmobytes.com
    gizmobytes.com
and https:// in front of those, but none have worked. for page,
    /xmlrpc.php
    /elliot/xmlrpc.php
but I get this error: “Unable to parse the XML response. Parser Reason:Only one top level element is allowed in an XML document.”
    I don’t use a proxy server.
    fast help appreciated!

  • I’m also having problems connecting with w.bloggar 3.02 to WordPress 0.7.1.1.
    The error reads:
“Unable to parse the XML response. Parser reason: The following tags were not closed: br, br.”
I was able to use w.bloggar with my previous blog program, b2 0.62 without any problems.
I just recently installed WordPress 0.7.1.1 from scratch.

This is related to the other problems with 0.71 xmlrpc in this thread. I did replace the indicated files, and with the new files w.bloggar will work, but I then get MySQL errors on my archives pages. For now I am just going through the web interface until the next revision and all the files are once again in sync.

I updated b2include/b2functions.php to 1.21 and xmlrpc.php to 1.6 but was getting a slightly different error.
“Unable to parse the XML response. Parser reason: The following tags were not closed: br, br, br, br.??
It was because xmlrpc.php 1.6 was calling wp-config.php. xmlrpc.php 1.5 works as I’m still using b2config.php but now I’m getting MySQL errors. I get the following error.
    “SQL/DB Error —
[You have an error in your SQL syntax near ” at line 1]”
6 of these in a row above my weblog title and the dates and times for my posts are gone. The posts themselves are still there though.
I guess I’ll stick to the original b2include/b2functions.php and xmlrpc.php in 0.7.1.1 and just post through the browser.

I want to report that I could not get w.bloggar to work with WordPress 0.72. I’ve tried both b2 and Custom API settings with and without metaWeblog API settings, and get the same response everytime, HTTP Post Failed: 404 Error.
Could this have something to do with the permissions setting within my WordPress directory?

It shouldn’t have anything to do with permissions….
In your w.bloggar “Account Properties”, you should have
    Host: https://www.davidmattison.ca
    Page: /wordpress/xmlrpc.php
    Yes?
And with w.bloggar, setting the “Blog Tool” option to “b2” is probably best. You might also want to check out Zempt.

Yes, Dougal, you’re right! Duh, I forgot to include the “wordpress” path. Works like a charm now which likely means I can finally use NewzCrawler, my favored aggregator/syndicator/blog client. Not a paid text ad. ?? Thanks for your help!

I’m going to have to set up some more comprehensive tests to see what NewzCrawler is sending out. It seems to be posting articles in draft mode, then making a call to mt.setPostCategories, but I’m not sure what’s happening after that.

A small cosmetic problem. How should I designate the font in the stylesheet for WMP9 bloggar plugin? My content text is fine, but media info is abnormally large?
