Hello, I have a couple of questions for GDPR compliance of my website.

    1. by disabling the “Participate in the Real-Time Wordfence Security Network” option in brute force settings, do I avoid any data transfer to servers outside Europe?

    2. is there any other data transfer I should be aware of?

    3. are all the WF plugin cookies technical cookies (not profiling)?

    Hi @islp,

Within the Standard Contractual Clauses, in the Appendix, Annex I, is the parties to the data agreement, namely the Customer (you) and Defiant, Inc. (who does business as Wordfence). By agreeing to the Terms of Service for Wordfence (https://www.wordfence.com/terms-of-service/), you are agreeing to the Standard Contractual Clauses describing how data will be transferred between the EU and USA.

IP addresses are considered personal identifiable information per the GDPR so we do technically collect personal data.

If anything you need to know isn’t answered in our terms of service or above, feel free to message genbiz @ wordfence . com to see if our team can answer any questions specific to your use-case.

    Thanks,

    Peter.

Ok, but in the meantime I found a “practical” answer too: is this still a valid answer?

When features are turned off for privacy, some security is lost.?If you’d like to know more about the security you may give up by doing this, by all means contact the email address above with your queries and use-case for the privacy policy not working for you.

Well, this is simple, there’s no need of any email: new local rules related to GDPR would force me to create a banner to collect users’ consent: i don’t want to create any banner and I want to keep my website simple. Honestly, I don’t care about loosing a little bit of security
